Brought up in the Orange city of India, Nagpur, Surabhi Shah was raised by a multitasking mother and a hard-working and righteous father. Hard Work & Equal Opportunity is her mantra for living a successful lifestyle. Having completed her bachelor of technology, she worked for a multinational company for a few years. Later on, Surabhi joined her father in expanding the family business. The business and technical skills that she acquired in these years and her passion to follow her own heart impelled her to start her own company Carragreen.
She found her pillar of support when she married Nirmit Shah, who always supported her ambitions and beliefs. Carragreen is working towards a Greener, Cleaner, and Healthier Planet Earth! The company makes unique, affordable & biodegradable food packaging and stationery from recycled and upcycled paper. Carragreen has been one of the 60 startups out of 68000 being funded on Shark Tank India, Season 1. They have received many prestigious awards and have been recognized by Super Startup Indore among the top 25 startups, FICCI FLO for their achievements.
Surabhi’s startup idea has also been selected in the top 100 women startups out of 6000 nominated by NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore for their sustainable ideas. The company has been in the TOP 3 startups selected by the Government of Madhya Pradesh for its efforts for replacing single-use plastic.
Surabhi herself is an eco-warrior and loves nature, so she made sure that all the Carragreen eco-friendly products can vouch for sustainability. She believes in empowering women and dreams that one day Carragreen is an all-women-run company
